ENVY™ apple slices baked to a feather light crisp perfect for serving with soft cheese, a selection of nuts, seeded crackers or wafers and a delicious, salted caramel sauce for dipping!

INGREDIENTS
- 4 ENVY™ apples
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 20gms butter
- 1 cup cream
- Dash of vanilla extract
- Pinch of flakey sea salt
- Soft cheeses like a creamy blue and ripe brie, seeded wafers, selection of roasted nuts to serve.
METHOD
- Pre-heat the oven to 140°C, and line a baking tray with cooking paper.
- Slice the ENVY™ apples very thinly, use a mandolin if you have one. Remove any visible seeds.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the lined tray and bake for 40-60 minutes until pale golden and dry, allow to cool and crisp up. (Store in an air-tight container when completely cold).
- For the dipping sauce, combine the brown sugar and butter in a medium saucepan.
- Melt together then add the cream, bring to the boil, whisking occasionally.
- Simmer for 3-5 minutes until golden and glossy.
- Remove from the heat, then add the vanilla and salt.
- Allow to cool and thicken before serving.
