Envy™ Apple Oat Crumble & Citrus Caramel Topping

2 Envy™ apples, diced into large cubes

1 T lemon juice

3 T sugar 

½ tsp ground cinnamon

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup old fashioned oats

½ cup butter, diced small and kept cold

½ cup caramel

¼ tsp salt 

Zest of ½ an orange

1 T orange juice


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Stir together 3 T sugar and ½ tsp ground cinnamon.

Toss Envy™ apples in lemon juice and then in cinnamon sugar mixture. Spread into a 9-inch pie dish.

Stir together brown sugar, flour, and oats. Using your hands or a fork, cut in the butter until pea size crumbs form. Sprinkle evenly over top of apples. 

Bake for 40-45 min until mixture is bubbling and golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small pot, whisk together caramel, salt, orange zest and juice until warm.

Spoon apple oat crumble over top of a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and top with salted citrus caramel.
